At Seventeen (and on the road)

© 2006 P.P. PFLAGER

(dropped D tuning)

D I bought Bull Durham A7 in a bag and G rolled a ciga D rette

I swallowed liquor A7 from a jar, it was G burning hot and D wet

I G found a woman to share the night and left my soul be D hind

I walk the path well A7 worn by men and G follow as if I'm D blind

Chorus

At G seventeen and on the road and livin life a D lone

It's A7 tough enough G growin up, without a D home

I'll G ride the rails to North Dakota and work out in the D field

When the A7 winter winds G begin to blow I'll pray my soul is D healed

I put a pinch of A7 snooze G in between my D cheek

The taste is hard and A7 bitter but G God forbid I'm D weak

I'm G standing here in my place amongst the other D men

I grew up once and A7 did it wrong, I G can't do that D again

Repeat Chorus

I headed south A7 on the train and G left the snow D behind

I knew what I A7 had to do, G knew what I had to D find

I G stood in the vestibule and I spit just one last D time

I stepped from the A7 path of men, at G last my life was D mine

Final Chorus

At G seventeen and on the road and livin life D alone

It's A7 tough enough G growin up, without a D home

I G rode the rails to North Dakota and worked out in the D field

When the A7 winter winds G began to blow,

I found my soul had D healed

 Ta Rah Rah Pepper Spray

© 1996 A.E. & P.P. PFLAGER

(to the tune of Ta Rah Boom De Ay)

chorus

Ta rah rah boom de ay

Have you been pepper sprayed

Have you been bad today

Did you get in the way

It'll take your breath away

And on your belly you'll lay

Until you pass away

When you've been pepper sprayed

It's safer than a gun

And really much more fun

Spray it on everyone

Then watch em try to run

repeat chorus

Protesting not allowed

In an unruly crowd

Soon as they get too loud

Spray it in a giant cloud

If you dare exercise

Your first amendment rights

We think we're justified

To spray it in your eyes

-------------------------------------------

Ta Rah Rah Boom Tee Dude

No matter what they use

When they want you removed

They sure do treat you rude

Ta Rah Rah Boom Tee Babe

The National Guard I say

Will not be far away

Ta Rah Rah Rah Boom Boom Boom

 Talk is Cheap

© 2006 P.P. PFLAGER

B7 Some men are liars, some men are cheats

Some men get their jollys out on the street

E Don't be taken in by sweet sounding rap

B7 Don't let yourself get caught in their trap

F#7 Talk is cheap and E dreams are free

B7 All men are liars --- except me

B7 Things aren't always as they appear

There are things that you should fear

E Don't trust a man when love is hot

B7 Don't give him everything you got

F#7 Talk is cheap and E dreams are free

B7 All men are liars --- except me

Chorus

E He whispered sweet things into her ear

The B7 kind of things girls like to hear

E He said she shodda known it was a line

But she Dd7 took the hook and F#7 she was mine

B7 Don't be taken for a ride,

Unless you want to be cast aside

E Don't be a fool when you play the game

B7 Don't let a man drive you insane

F#7 Talk is cheap and E dreams are free

B7 All men are liars --- except me

B7 Love has been a serious affair

Ever since Delilah cut Sampsons' hair

E Lovers have always played the game

B7 The rules of love have remained the same

F#7 Talk is cheap and E dreams are free

B7 All men are liars --- except me
